Do you have brown spots on your face after recovering from hysterectomy? You're not really excited about them. You don't have them before the surgery. I guess obviously you're looking for remedies to achieve a clear complexion with these blemishes.

Before you reach menopause, the ovaries produce most of your body's estrogen. When your ovaries are removed during a hysterectomy, the levels of the estrogen reduce. As your body is lacking of estrogen, the production of melanin cannot be controlled. That is why you see brown patches forming on your face. You can ask your dermatologist about chemical peels. For a start, you probably need a series of 5-6 glycolic acid chemical peels. Make sure the treatments are spaced 3-4 weeks apart. You can complement the treatment with a good topical skin lightener without hydroquinone for reducing brown patches. The number of peels to clear your pigmentation will depend on the type of peel you use and the depth of your pigmentation problem. You can try taking co-Q10 supplements. CoQ10 acts as a strong antioxidant. It counters the damaging effects of free radicals. Those who have taken this supplement see fading effects of their dark spots. Usually your doctor will prescribe hormone replacement therapy (HRT) after hysterectomy. And hormone replacement therapy is related to the cause of hyperpigmentation just like birth control pills. You can either stop using HRT to see if the patches will go away or consult your doctor for an alternative. Some dermatologists think that laser, microdermabrasion, hydroquinone creams or any over the counter pigmentation treatment products don't work well. You should try skin lightener instead. However, you NOT should use it for more than 8 weeks because
if you don't see any fading of dark patches by then, it will not work.
if you use it beyond 8 weeks, your existing spots may become darker.
After hysterectomy, you need to avoid the sun as much as possible. Your skin is more prone to sun damage. As soon as you head out in the open air, your spots will appear. Using sunscreen can help but avoiding sun is the best measure against brown spots.
